The project presented the overview of the different type of battery chemistries along with the materials used, each material percentage, the cost of each material. It focused on the impact that each of these battery components has on the environment by review different assessment tools. Also, extensive review of the current laboratory level research was done. The recovery percentage and the feasibility of these method to be implemented on an industrial scale was studied. Lastly, preliminary recommendation was provided with respect to the optimum battery chemistry.
